NEWS Emirates to bring first A380 aircraft to Birmingham, UK

Emirates has announced that it will be upgrading its EK39/40 service between Dubai and Birmingham to an Airbus A380 from March 27th, 2016. This will be the first time the iconic and much loved A380 will fly from the region, and comes as Emirates celebrates its 15th anniversary at Birmingham Airport.

NEWS fastjet Tanzania prepares for Kenya takeoff

fastjet Tanzania has been given clearance by the Kenyan government to operate flights between Kenya and Tanzania under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement between the two countries. The deal has previously been approved by the Tanzanian government, clearing the way for takeoff.

NEWS McNerney to take seat on board at Boeing

Boeing chairman Jim McNerney has announced that the company’s board has elected Randall Stephenson as a new director, effective February 2016. Stephenson, 55, has been chairman and chief executive of AT&T, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, since 2007. AT&T is a global leader in integrated connectivity solutions for businesses and consumers, including video entertainment, mobility, network security, high-speed Internet and voice services.

NEWS Emirates going double daily A380 to Schiphol

The Dutch government has now granted permission to operate an additional A380 flight at Amsterdam Schiphol, according to reports. Emirates already operates a twice daily service (the other flight is currently flown by B777-300ER) from the Dutch airport so it means it will be able to both offer a more attractive product for both flights and provide more seats to passengers. As we have previously reported (see news November 19), the news that Emirates wished to operate a twice daily A380 service at Schiphol did not go down well with both national airline KLM and the Dutch pilots’ union VNV.

NEWS dnata wins Hainan Airlines contract in Australia

Global air services provider dnata has signed another multi-year agreement with a Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines to provide full ground handling services for the airline’s new flights to Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport. This is the second Chinese airline customer that dnata has won this year, adding to the contract with Xiamen Air announced earlier in the month.

NEWS Plane crash in a Delhi district has killed ten people

A light plane has crashed after take off near Delhi Airport and killed 10 people.

The Beechcraft King Air plane that is chartered by India's Border Security Force had come down after hitting a wall in Dwarka district and burst into flames.

Officials: The plane was carrying members of the border patrol force

The incident on Tuesday occurred as the twin engine plane was on its way to Ranchi in the Jharkhand state.

Chief oh Delhi Fire Service told AFP: The crash took place around 9:50am (4:20GMT), moments after the technicians had lost contact with ground control.

VIDEO SpaceX successfully landed its Falcon 9 rocket after launching it to space

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket successfully landed upright on solid ground at Cape Canaveral, after traveling into space and back. 
It's the first time SpaceX has been able to gently touch down the Falcon 9 post-launch — something the company has been trying to do for the past year. It’s a big first step toward reusable rockets. 
This launch was also the first time SpaceX has flown since June, after one of its Falcon 9 rockets exploded en route to the International Space Station. Now this return-to-flight mission has made history — no one else has ever landed a rocket that has gone as deep into space as the Falcon 9.
