ALERT New possible ATC strike in France next week may affect flights to/from west Europe

ATC union (UNSA-ICNA) called for a 5 days strike as follows:

  • Brest and Bordeaux ATC control zones will be affected from 0500 Monday 6th March until 1900 Friday 10th March.
  • Marseille ATC control zone could be affected from 0500 Tuesday 7th until 0500 Friday 10th March.

At this stage from Monday to Friday as a response to the strike suggestion is to reduce the traffic for:

  • Paris CDG
  • Paris ORY
  • Paris BVA
  • Toulouse TLS
  • Bordeaux BOD
  • Nantes NTE

Pre-tactical plans for London flights

  • Outbounds flights from Paris/Reims area are likely to be pushed out to the North.
  • Re-routing flights to German sectors instead of Brussels sectors.

Pre-tactical plans for Marseille area

  • Marseille Full staffing available Mon 6th and Fri 10th so extra traffic can be taken.

Pre-tactical plans for Switzerland area

  • Switzerland re-sectorisation plan means -20% capacity Monday and thereafter -10%.

Pre-tactical plans for Amsterdam area

Amsterdam Advanced ACC system still being implemented. Inbound capacities reduced by 10% from Tues 7th. No major impact expected due to strike.
