It’s believed the passenger suffered a heart attack on board the Airbus A380 flight QF9 while travelling from Melbourne to London on Friday.
“The plane started to make a very fast descent and then later the pilot confirmed that they were making an emergency landing in Muscat, Oman,” a fellow passenger told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“The patient was being treated on the floor in the middle of everyone,” he said.
“He died before they could land and when they landed a string of people came on board to examine the situation.”
The man’s body was removed about an hour later.
It’s believed his wife was travelling with him at the time.
