VIDEO American Eagle flight makes emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin

An airplane that originated in Philadelphia had to make an emergency landing in North Carolina on its way to Jacksonville, Florida. The plane landed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport just before 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The airline says the flight crew made the call to divert after a report of smoke in the cabin. The plane was a Republic Airlines flight operating as American Eagle. The airline says it was working to get the 65 passengers to Jacksonville as quickly as possible.
