NEWS Philippine Airlines A340 from Hawaii suffers from severe turbulence and injures 15 people on flight

Philippine Airlines A340, RP-C3438 was on flight PR101 from Honolulu to Manila with 132 passengers.

The aircraft encountered 'clear air turbulence' resulting in the minor injuries to 15 people.

The flight continued to Manila and landed safely. Medical services took the 15 injured to hospital, some of them needing wheelchairs.

CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) said two people received injured and 10 others had hurt their backs when the aircraft encountered turbulence.

Passengers from the flight said anything on the flight that was 'loose' including passengers not belted were thrown to the ceiling.
