NEWS Investigators: British Airways 747 that struck building in Johannesburg was pilot error

The damage was repairable but 747 are being gradually being removed
from the BA fleet and instead was written off.

Four people were injured when the plane's right wing struck a building before departure

The collision occurred at Johannesburg airport in December 2013

The report said there was a loss of situational awareness by the flight crew

It was blamed also on the lack of proper lighting and signage as factors of the crash

The damage caused to the building that injured 4 people

The captain said some of the lights that guided planes were not illuminating.

The aircraft (747 G-BNLL) was written off as a result of the crash. It was broken up at Johannesburg airport in April 2015.
