TODAY Air Europa begins service on 787 aircraft leased from LOT Polish; service to JFK and MVD will run for a year

Air Europa today began service on their leased 787s to New York JFK.

The aircraft will alternate between flights and operate to JFK one day and the next to Montevideo.

The aircraft; SP-LRF, will operate for Air Europa for a year.

Air Europa will take delivery of 22 787s in the future, and could be using the LOT aircraft as training flights for their crew before the delivery of the airlines own aircraft.

The aircraft is currently still in LOT livery with an Air Europa sticker applied. It is expected to be painted in the full Air Europa livery soon.

Air Europa has placed an order for 8 787-8s and 14 787-9s
