A United Airlines plane carrying close to 200 people made an emergency landing on Sunday at Des Moines International Airport.
United Flight 112 was en route from Chicago to Denver before being diverted to Des Moines once pilots reportedly smelled an unusual odor.
An Alert 2 was issued for flight, which landed safely at approximately 3:55 p.m., according to United's online flight tracking system. The plane was to be investigated and inspected by airport fire crews.
According to United's online records, Flight 112 was to depart from Chicago O'Hare at 2:48 p.m. and arrive at approximately 4:23 p.m. local time in Denver.
Passengers were told to seek alternative transportation Sunday night, as the plane remained grounded.
