A British Airways plane is being examined for faults after its crew twice had to make unscheduled landings in three days.
On both occasions the Boeing 777 had to to touch down at Shannon airport in Ireland due to what BA described as technical issues.
In the first incident on Friday the plane was flying from Heathrow airport to Boston, USA, when it put down at Shannon. After being checked over, the plane carried on to Boston.
The same aircraft, with 220 passengers aboard, left Seattle last night heading for Heathrow when it again had to divert to Shannon where it landed just before 10.30am today.
The passengers were flown back later on a replacement flight, with the Boeing 777 being checked over.
