A Air Via Airbus A320-200, performing flight VL-501 from Varna (Bulgaria) to Leipzig (Germany), landed short while on approach to Leipzig's runway 08R, bounced and touched down a second time onto the piano keys (just past the runway threshold) of the runway with the tail contacting the runway surface at about 12:57L (10:57Z). The aircraft rolled out without further incident but sustained substantial damage to the tail.
