German flag-carrier has been hit by new strike action from pilots, with more than 1,350 flights cancelled today as a result. Talks between the pilots’ unions and the airline collapsed earlier, unable to reach an agreement in a row over retirement benefits.

EMERGENCY PIA flight #PK607 makes emergency landing in Islamabad
A PIA spokesperson stated that the captain of PIA flight PK-607, flying to Gilgit from Islamabad, made an emergency landing at Benazir Bhutto International Airport due to a technical fault in the airliner.
All passengers and crew remained safe, the spokesperson added.
The technical staff of the national airliner carried out maintenance work on the aircraft and the flight later departed for Gilgit.
